The markets extended a risk rally on Wall Street on Friday to end a tumultuous week that saw a brewing banking crisis send bond yields plunging while market participants sharply lowered expectations of future interest rate hikes in Western economies. The European Central Bank (ECB) delivered an inflation-fighting 50 basis point rate hike in line with oft-repeated guidance, with sentiment buttressed by the Swiss National Bank’s massive support for Credit Suisse Group AG, which sent the troubled lender’s shares 20% higher.

The investment may be followed by another promoter funding round, apart from a much larger debt-raise, sources added. It is likely to be used for purchase of 5G telecom gear as Voda Idea has not yet proceeded with deployment of the high-speed network even as Reliance Jio and Airtel have started offering consumer services.

The dollar slipped on Friday as risk sentiment improved after authorities and banks moved to ease stress on the financial system in major markets. This calmed the markets and allowed for the Aussie and kiwi to rise. The $30 billion rescue package put together by top power brokers from the U.S. Treasury, Federal Reserve, and banks followed Credit Suisse’s announcement earlier on Thursday that it would borrow up to $54 billion from the Swiss National Bank. “The Fed has a very difficult policy decision to make at next week’s meeting,” said Paul Ashworth, chief North America economist at Capital Economics, which for now still leans towards the Fed raising interest rates by a quarter percentage point. “It is a very close call… the risk of a full-blown contagion remains, and a lot can happen in the week until the announcement.”

Stocks that were in focus include names like Gujarat Pipavav Port which rose nearly 2% to hit a fresh 52-week high, Sun Pharma Advanced Research which tumbled over 5% to a fresh 52-week low and Hindalco which pared gains but closed in the green on Wednesday.

They said the bank could access liquidity from the central bank if needed. The moves follow the collapse of U.S. lenders Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank in recent days which have sent financial markets on a roller-coaster ride.

The stock has outperformed the Nifty50 over a 12-month period giving returns of more than 34% against 2.6% returns given by Nifty50 and negative 11% returns given by the Nifty Small Cap 100 according to a data sourced from Trendlyne. The stock is a constituent of Nifty Small Cap 250.

In the last month, the price has once again moved in the range of Rs 2,125-2,250 odd level and in the current week with relatively high volume the price broke the range and closed below the Rs 2,125 odd level.
